The world is getting increasingly busy, and many of us having so much going on in our lives, we’re on the look for new innovations to shorten our time in the kitchen or more convenient ways to prepare meals in general. I’ve been looking into pressure cookers, here are findings on the Crock-Pot Express Pressure Cooker – CSC051.

It’s a versatile electric pressure cooker and multicooker. You can try out limitless recipes. It’s 70% faster than the traditional method of cooking and big enough to prepare meals for a family. You can be sure to spend less time in the kitchen. It comes with a recipe booklet, users can get recipe ideas from this booklet, with this you’ll hardly ever run out of ideas.

Cooking Modes of the Crock-Pot Express Pressure Cooker

The Crock-pot express has 4 cooking modes: It pressure cooks, steams, slow cooks, and sautés. It also has a keep warm and delay timer function!

I love home-made meals and I love to have them ready and warm when I get home. That’s why I found the delay timer and keep warm feature interesting! With these two features, you can put your ingredients into the pot, set the timer to start cooking a while before you get home, or are ready to dish the meal, if for some reason you can’t have the meal when it’s ready, no problem. The keep-warm function comes on to ensure you have the meal warm whenever you get back.

• Cooking time: Cooking time can be changed by pressing the + Or – button before pressing the START/STOP button.

Adjustable Pressure and Temperature

I find this to be a very useful. For example when cooking bean porridge, I like the beans squashed by the time it’s done, so I need to increase the pressure to get this result. Many newer electric pressure cookers are adding this feature but there are still a good number that do not allow you to adjust the pressure or the temperature for browning.

• Pressure: the pressure on certain pre-set programs can be adjusted by pressing the PRESSURE ADJUST button before pressing the START/STOP button.

• Temperature: the cooking temperature of certain functions can be changed by pressing the TEMP ADJUST button

Crock-Pot Express Pressure Cooker Pre-set Programs

There’s so much you can create in a short time with these  one-touch buttons. It has 9 pre-set pressure cooker modes, they are: Meat/Stew, Beans/Chili, Rice/Risotto, Yogurt, Poultry, Dessert, Soup, Multigrain, and Steam.  There’s also the Slow Cook, Brown / Sauté, and Keep Warm buttons.  With the 9 preset modes users can try out limitless recipes.

• Meat/Stew: Can be used for cooking meat stews and a lot more.
• Beans/Chili: can be used for preparing beans. (A personal favourite)
• Rice/Risotto: Risotto is an Italian dish cooked in stock with ingredients including seafood, vegetable, and meat. This setting can make you delicious Rice or Risotto.
• Yogurt: you can perform many of the steps in the process of making yoghurt( such as warming the milk, (fermentation process). It helps maintain an even temperature throughout the fermentation process.
• Poultry: Can be used for cooking protein.
• Dessert: in a few minutes you can make desserts for family and friends!
• Soup: can be used for making soups.
• The multigrain program cooks at very high pressure, you can use this button for making brown or wild rice. 
• Steam: can be used for steaming vegetables.

Safety Features

The handle at both sides of the pot make it safer and easier to move about. Also it has a pressure release button at the top of the list that is used for releasing pressure from the pot before the pot is open, with the pressure release button you can be sure your hands are safe from the steam. The pot remains locked until the pressure is released from the pot.

Recipe Booklet or Instruction manuals

It comes with a recipe booklet. Though users are not limited to the recipes in the booklet, they can explore limitless options. It contains nice and easy to prepare recipes that users will definitely want to try out. Recipes like the vegetable tagine, lemon cheese cake, chocolate and orange volcano pudding, piqued my interest!

There’s also an instruction manual with instructions on how to use the Crock-Pot. Users can always refer to the instruction manual for instructions on how to set up and use the pot.

Control Panel

It has LED display function. The cooking time is displayed. This makes it easier to use. There are one-touch buttons for setting and choosing cooking mood.

Inner Pot and Lid type

It has a removable lid. Also the lid has a pressure release button that allows you release pressure before opening the lid, with this your hands are safe from the steam.

It has a non-stick inner pot, it’s removeable.  The non-stick pot is dishwasher safe, which makes it’s easier to clean up after cooking. However, it is adviced users hand wash the non-stick pot to prolong the life.

Summary

If you’re thinking of speed and convenience in the kitchen, you might consider getting a pressure cooker. They are fast and multifunctional, with one-touch button you can create lots of recipes!

This is a good quality electric pressure cooker. It is featured as one of the best electric pressure cookers in UK. It is from a good brand and it has some very good features. It comes at a good price point.
