Best Electric Pressure cookers or multi cookers in UK 2021
If you are new to electric pressure cookers like I was in early 2016, then you have landed on the right page. This website is a personal website where I hope to save you the hours (you don’t want to know how many) that you may need to choose the best electric pressure cooker for your kitchen in the United Kingdom.
When it comes to choosing a pressure cooker, you need to determine if you want an electric one or a regular one that you use on your stove. All these years I have only used the regular one and I believe I have paid my dues in burnt food and over cooked meals.
I first discovered electric pressure cookers on Amazon when researching cookware! I decided to set up a review website to record my findings because I have a review website for Solar panels where I record my findings about solar energy. I felt it would be cool to do something similar for electric pressure cookers too and maybe other pots or multi cookers that I come across.

Our Pick for Best Electric Pressure Cooker or Multi-Cooker in the UK
It has always been quite difficult to pick a winner for best electric pressure cooker in the UK because every user is different and has different requirements.
Here are some of the criteria we used to choose the best electric pressure cooker.
Although we would choose an all round best electric pressure cooker, we also show you the winners in other categories such as Functions and Price!
All Round Winner – Best Electric Pressure Cooker in Uk
Instant Pot Duo Plus Electric Pressure Cooker
The Instant Pot invented this category. It’s not unusual to hear people refer to other electric pressure cookers as instant pots. There are google searches for Tefal Instant Pot, Tower Instant Pot and so on.
Well In my research, I think the Instant Pot has continued to defend its position as the best electric pressure cooker. To be honest, there are electric pressure cookers that are of higher quality but the instant pot beats them for the purpose of this exercise because it has more options and it balances all that with a competitive price.
The evo edition of the Instant Pot has the sous vide function which many buyers love. Although it does not have the air-fry function, it has another model that has the air-fry function. I would not be surprised if in a couple of years we see a version with both functions combined.
Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker Version 2 (2018)

This programmable pressure cooker is not only popular in the UK, it is also very popular in the United States. On Amazon USA it has a whooping 9,000 plus 5-star review. You really can’t go wrong with a product that so many people love so much.
PROS of the Instant Pot DUO
- Multi-functional – It combines seven functions in one cooker. It is a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, yogurt maker, Saute/Browning, warmer and steamer.
- Various pre-programmed cooking settings which make it easy to cook soups, meats and other types of food.
- High safety standards
- Removable inner pot that you can put it in your dishwasher.
Cons
- Some customers felt that the many buttons on the cooker can be overwhelming at first. Most people figure things out with a few tries though
- The stainless steel inner pot does not have a handle for easy removal from the cooker.
The Instant Pot Duo 7 in 1 electric pressure cooker is still the best choice for your kitchen at the price. If you know you would not be making yogurt, then you can save some money and buy the Instant pot lux 60 version 3

Instant Pot Lux60 6-in-1 Programmable Electric Pressure Cooker

The Instant Pot Lux 60 is produced by the same company as the Instant pot Duo 7 in 1 cooker. They are very similar to each other. The Duo is a 7-in 1 pressure cooker while the LUX 60 is a 6-in-1. The Lux does not have the yogurt maker.
A new version of the Instant Pot Lux 60 was released in November 2016. This upgrade (version 3) is a lot quieter and it has the ability to turn off the automatic keep warm function.
PROs
- The Instant Pot LUX 60 is cheaper than the Instant Pot Duo. If you are not so keen on yogurt, you may choose to buy this one
- The 2017 version (3) has a quiet mode.
- It has all the advanced features of the Instant Pot Duo 7-in-one
Cons
- It does not make yogurt.
- It has only one size – 6 Litres
Conclusion
If you are short on budget and you really do not need to make your own yogurt, then the Instant Pot Lux 60 is a good option. Please make sure you choose the v3 version.
Pressure King Pro 20-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker
The Pressure King Pro 20 -in-1 pressure cooker, is one of the best electric pressure cookers this year. It is the best electric pressure cooker with the most number of functions. Some of these functions are:
- Frying
- Slow Cooking
- Baking
- Steaming
- Warming
- Making your own fresh bread
- Jam making
- Yoghurt making
Pros
- It has a lot more functions than most other electric pressure cookers
- The cost of the Pressure King Pro is not too high compared to others.
- It is not noisy during operation
Cons
- Many of the functions of the Pressure King Pro will not be used by many of the customers.
- The inner pot is not stainless steel, so it will allow some food to get burnt.
- Some customers have had the 12-in-1 version of the pot explode on them. However, I think this version is safer and I couldn’t find any such complaints with regards to the Pressure King Pro 20-in-1.
- The largest pot size is 6L
The Pressure King Pro is a very useful item in any kitchen. Since some customers have complained about the earlier version of the pot exploding on them, it is important that you take the time to secure the pot safely before applying heat or turning it on. This size is currently out of stock now.

Cook4Me – TEFAL Electric Pressure Cooker and Intelligent Multi cooker
The Tefal Cook4Me is in a class of it’s own. It is a little more expensive than the Instant Pot Duo. However, it is slicker and has the potential to do a lot more automatically.

Best Electric Pressure Cooker for Price
Bertelin Digi Cooker
This Electric Pressure cooker from Bertelin is not on the original list. I decided to add it because it is the best priced 6 litre pressure cooker in the market and you may want to know that.
From my research, it does most of the basic cooking you would want to do. It does not make yoghurt or jam and cannot be used to bake bread. However it cooks well and seems to be of regular quality. No one has reported any explosions. The only con with it is the fact that the manual is not as detailed as many new users would like. This can easily be overcome with reading up online. So if you are on a very tight budget, and you still want to eat healthy and save time cooking. Or you just don’t have any hob space as a student, this may be a good entry cooker.

Sage by Heston Blumenthal the Fast Slow Cooker Pro [by Breville]
If you are looking for good quality, a good company that stands behind its product, and a pressure cooker as well as a slow cooker, you can’t go wrong with the Sage by Heston Blumenthal Fast Slow Cooker! It is the same as the Breville Fast slow cooker pro in North America!
Although the Sage Fast Slow cooker Pro is more expensive than the Instant Pot, the quality and options you get for that price are more than worth the extra investment.
Having any electric pressure cooker, in my opinion, is a great investment; so if you can’t accommodate the Sage electric pressure cooker in your budget, then you can buy any of the cooker recommended below.
This Sage by Heston Blumenthal Fast Slow Cooker is a pressure cooker and at the same time a slow cooker with all the controls you can think off. Of all the electric pressure cookers listed above, this is the one from which you can choose the most levels of pressure. This freedom however, comes at a cost.
If it is really important to you that you have more control over what goes on inside your electric pressure cooker, then this is the cooker for you. It is well made, sophisticated and will serve the average user very well.
If you are the type of person who doesn’t fuss too much about cost, then this pressure cooker delivers on quality.
Pros of the Sage by Blumenthal Fast Slow Cooker
Slick design – This electric pressure cooker very well designed, the buttons blend in nicely with the body and the general feel of the pot is classy. You get the sense that you have a high quality equipment when you buy the Sage by Heston Blumenthal fast slow cooker.
High range of Pressure levels – You can choose pressure levels from low (10kpa) to high (80kpa). As you get used to using a pressure cooker, you would come across recipes that require specific levels of pressure for specific amount of time. The Fast Slow cooker is the cooker with the largest range I could find in the market. This means that if you choose to cook a little slower, you are not forced to bring out another appliance. This pot really works hard to be the only pot you need.
Interactive LCD Display – Instead of having so many buttons on the cooker, it uses an interactive LCD display which makes the pot look less intimidating. It also shows you how things are going in the cooker. It tells you when it’s building pressure, cooking and releasing steam.
CONS OF THE SAGE BY BLUMENTHAL FAST SLOW COOKER
Non Stick Inner Pot – This is the most obvious downside of this Fast slow cooker. Although you enjoy the benefit of the non-stick coating, many people are weary of the non-stick coating process contaminating the food. I guess the manufacturers thought that more people prefer a non-stick inner pot. Take note that the inner pot has a PTFE and PFOA free ceramic coating according to the user manual. This type of coating is safer than the usual teflon coating you will find on other non-stick cookware. In my opinion, a good quality stainless steel inner pot is still a better option.
Higher cost – This cooker cost about 80% more than the Instant Pot duo, so it may be too expensive as your first electric pressure cooker. If you are the type that likes high quality things, this is a very good cooker.
Difficult Name – Okay this is not so much of a problem. However, I find the name so bland. Not as catchy as the Instant Pot or the Cook4Me.
Conclusion
If you have the budget go for the Sage by Heston Blumenthal Fast Slow Cooker. It’s great value for your money. If non-stick pots really bug you, then let this one go. I hope to upgrade to this after enjoying the Instant Pot Duo.
